How do I access Library resources remotely?
Answer
You can access Library resources remotely (from home or offsite) by using any of the following options:
- Virtual desktop (VCD or VND)
- The Library’s Remote Access portal
- This will take you to MSK's Secure Login where you can authenticate by entering your MSK network username and password and confirming with PingID (not always required). You will receive confirmation with the Remote Access Enabled! page. Your authentication should last 8 hours in your browser, enabling you to access the MSK Library's subscription content.
- If you would like to bookmark the portal link for convenience, the URL is: https://library.mskcc.org/remote-access
- For other links, you may be prompted to log in via your institution, which will generate a Single Sign-On (SSO) with OpenAthens to show you're coming from the MSK Library and are affiliated with MSK. Authenticating with SSO will give you institutional access.
We recommend downloading the LibKey Nomad browser extension, then linking it to MSK Library holdings, as it will give you easier access to our subscriptions while using databases and websites.
