What is an ORCID iD? Can the Library help me get one?

Answer

ORCID, which stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID, is a unique 16-digit identifier that distinguishes you from other authors with a similar name. Once you have signed up for the free ORCID iD, include it when you submit content for publication, in grant applications, CV's, and other systems that use ORCID.

Use our ORCID@MSK application to create an ORCID iD or link an existing iD to your author profile in Synapse, the Library’s database of MSK authors and their publications.
